What the Audit Log Shows
Audit Log is a chronological record of changes across your workspace. Each entry records the timestamp, the action (Created, Modified, or Deleted), the entity affected, the result, and the actor’s IP address — and expands to show the old and new values side by side.
The Audit Log is role-gated: only owners and admins see it. For everyone else the sidebar item is hidden and the page shows an access-restricted message.
How to Use the Audit Log
1
Open Audit Log
Navigate to Audit Log in the Account section of the sidebar.
2
Filter to the change you care about
Filter by entity type, action (Created / Modified / Deleted), and a from/to date range.
3
Expand for detail
Click an entry to expand its before/after values — the fastest way to see exactly what changed.
When to Check the Audit Log
- After unexpected behavior changes — identify what was modified and when
- During access reviews — verify what admins have been changing
- Before compliance audits — demonstrate configuration controls
- After incidents — trace the sequence of events
- When onboarding new admins — review recent changes for context
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Audit Log page is empty | Filters or date range too narrow | Clear all filters and expand the date range |
| Cannot access the page | Your role is not owner or admin | Ask an owner or admin to review the log, or to change your role |
| Expected event is missing | The change occurred outside the retention window | Check the retention policy with support |
